Grind Time Announcments!

Hey everyone! Happy opening week for Legally Blonde! It's been going well, hope everyone's proud of their work. Make sure people buy tickets at lunch or online at brown paper tickets. The online ticket sales close 24 hours before the show so make sure to get your tickets before it closes.

After Legally Blonde is over, it's time for Dramafest! Auditions are Monday May 7th, so make sure that you and your friends sign up on the sign up sheet outside the black box doors. It's up right now, so get your friends to sign up! Callbacks will be the next day starting at 2 pm.

As it's nearing the end of the year, anyone interested in joining honors society for thespians should make sure to be at drama Thursday May 10th to tally points. Anyone new to the program make sure you go too, because being an honors thespian member comes with great benefits and opportunities.

Thursday May 10th we will also be voting for the Drama Awards at the end of the year! Everyone who has been involved in drama AT ALL this year is encouraged to come and vote for who they think deserves awards.

Attention DramaFest Directors

One of the most dun shows of the year, DramaFest, is coming up! Student playwrights have been working hard on their scripts, and it's now time for student directors to take the wheel.

If you are interested in directing one of the 10 minute plays, there is a mandatory informational meeting Thursday, April 26th from 2-3 pm. At this meeting you'll learn what it takes to be a director, how to direct a 10 minute play, and what the directing process will look like. The director application will also be due the same day, and there will be time to fill it out during the meeting.

Monday April 30th is the day that directors will be reading and selecting all the plays, so directors should be ready to stay at school from 2-6 pm. Reading and selecting plays might not take that long, but it's a safe estimate of how long it might take.

The auditions for DramaFest will be Monday May 7th from 2:30-5 and callbacks will be Tuesday May 8 from 2-5. Directors are required to be at both days.

We're excited to see you all there!

Dramafest Plays First Draft Due Monday

Hey playwrights! Hope your spring break has been relaxing.

Your FIRST DRAFT of your play is due the Monday we get back to school. Playwrights will be meeting with Mrs Powell from 2-3 every day that week until all the plays have been read. This is an opportunity for Mrs Powell to see what you've wrote and to get some feedback from your classmates.

Excited to see you there! Happy writing!
